The Association was founded in the year 1988 by the intellectuals of “Jodhpur Origin” .It is a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) registered as “Public Charitable Trust” . People from all cast and community, who have their roots in Jodhpur and live in Mumbai with a view to preserve their cultural heritage, promote brother hood and to serve the community at large, have come under the umbrella of “Jodhpur Association Mumbai” as members.

- Members of the Association are from all walks of life including industrialist, traders and professional like Doctors, Chartered Accountants, Advocates, Share Brokers, Bankers, Artists, Senior bureaucrats, Judges and Entrepreneurs who are self employed irrespective of age, education and religion.
- The Association in addition to its philharmonic objects pursue the following activities:
- Providing a common forum, easily accessible to all to promote brotherhood and fellowship.
- Providing facilities to students by way of hostel to pursue higher education in Mumbai.
- Providing scholarship to students pursuing education.
- Providing medical guidance and assistance to patients visiting Mumbai for treatment.
- Providing medical consultation by organizing medical camp at Jodhpur.
- Providing medical aid by way of equipments at Jodhpur.
- As a permanent feature the Association conducts Diwali, Holi and monsoon meets.
- The Association confers “Samaj Ratna” award to outstanding achievers for their contribution to the society on the occasion of Diwali meet.
- The activities of Association include contribution for Lathur Earth Quake, draught relief at Rajasthan, Rs. 15 lacs medical equipments at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital , Rs. 12 lacs equipments to “Chandi Hall Chakshu Chikitsha Samittee”, apart from other activities.
- Association conducted 9th Medical Camp at Jodhpur from 24th to 26 January 2010 where services of 14 specialist doctors were made available.
- The Association has 11 committees dedicated to provide various services which includes a Ladies Wing.
- The Association is running its own “Hostel” for students pursuing higher education, at Kandivali, Mumbai.
